I understand that a Religious Ceremony and a reception are not photo shoots, and that I have to balance the need for unobtrusive photography with the need to get the photos from the family's "wish list" of pictures. Somehow, I seem to have the knack of going unseen as I take my candids. And I am easygoing and patient when I take the formals.
I do not subcontract other photographers to cover your event. All your contact with my studio, from your initial visit through your pickup of your final album, will be with me personally. That way, I am always clear on your needs and how to take care of them. That also means that we know as I am photographing your Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah that I am visualizing your final album. As I work with you on your family's special day, your complete satisfaction is always most important to me!
I truly love photographing young adults and kids, and I think it shows in my work. I am honored when families choose me to be the eyes through which they will see this special day forever. And, I enjoy the challenge of working with families and siblings and grandparents. It's really a thrill to make flattering, honest portraits of couples and family groups. I still feel it in my heart when I see all three generations are dancing in the same circle to Hava Nagila or Klezmer music.
"During the fall of 2004 our family was fortunate to be able to hire Bill Smith to capture the feel and emotions of our daughters Bat Mitzvah. Through the entire experience Bill was a complete professional. From dealing with the contract to getting us the final family album, Bill took care of every detail. When it came to the actual date of the event, Bill was at the synagogue even before we arrived to catch our daughter walking in the door. Without reservation we encourage any family to hire Bill Smith for their families special event."

"We were thrilled to have Bill Smith photograph our daughter's Bat Mitzvah. He did a fantastic job from start to finish. His pictures were beautiful and captured the feelings of joy, laughter and happiness we felt being with friends and family that day. We have another Bat Mitzvah and a Bar Mitzvah coming up and plan on using Bill for both. Great job!"
